Private places for couples in Bangalore: 10 real spots

Ten places for couples in Bangalore where you can hear each other talk, from early-morning gardens to a room booked only for the two of you.

Bangalore makes it hard to find a quiet corner for two. The private places for couples in Bangalore that actually work fall into three groups: gardens and lakes that are calm early in the day, restaurants with tables far enough apart to talk, and rooms you book only for yourselves, like the private theatres we run in Koramangala.

Below are ten places for couples in Bangalore, across the city and across budgets. We run one of them, Rosae, so it is one entry of ten and the other nine stay neutral. Costs and travel times are approximate, and every place sets its own timings, so check before you leave.

Outdoor places that are quiet if you go early

Lalbagh Botanical Garden

Area: Mavalli, south Bangalore. Cost: about Rs 30 per adult, free in the early morning window (approximate).

Lalbagh is one of the oldest gardens in the city, with a lake, the Glass House and the rock at the centre. Two people can walk for an hour and barely repeat a path. It is busiest at weekends and during the flower shows in January and August, so a weekday morning is the calmer choice.

Cubbon Park

Area: central Bangalore, walking distance from MG Road. Cost: free.

Cubbon Park is the easiest place in the middle of the city to sit under old trees and talk without paying for a table. Mornings are the quietest. Timings and vehicle rules change from time to time, so check the current ones before you plan around it.

Sankey Tank

Area: Malleshwaram, north Bangalore. Cost: free.

A walking track of roughly 2 km runs around this lake, with separate lanes for walkers and runners. It opens in the morning and again in the late afternoon, and the evening breeze off the water is the reason most couples come. Confirm the current hours, since the gates close between sessions.

Nandi Hills

Area: about 60 to 70 km north of the city, roughly 1.5 to 2 hours by road (approximate). Cost: a small entry fee plus parking.

The drive up for sunrise is a standing Bangalore plan, and it is still a good one on a weekday. Gates open early in the morning, entry rules change at busy times, and weekends can mean a queue at the gate, so check the current rules before you set an alarm for 4 AM.

Indoor places for couples in Bangalore

Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium

Area: High Grounds, off Sankey Road. Cost: low ticket price (approximate).

The sky theatre runs shows in English and Kannada, and an hour under the dome is a better talking point than another coffee. It closes on some weekdays, including Mondays, and show times are fixed, so book or check the schedule on the official site first.

Ranga Shankara

Area: JP Nagar 2nd Phase. Cost: theatre tickets, usually modest (approximate).

Ranga Shankara stages a play almost every day except Monday. Tickets go on sale for the month at the box office and online. A play and a plate at the cafe is an easy weeknight date that neither of you will forget by Friday.

Restaurants where you can hear each other

Rim Naam, The Oberoi

Area: MG Road. Cost: about Rs 3,000 for two (approximate).

The Thai restaurant sits in the hotel garden on a wooden pavilion by the water, away from the road. Dinner service runs from 7 PM to about 11:30 PM. Book a table, and ask for the outdoor pavilion when you do.

Karavalli

Area: Residency Road. Cost: a special-occasion spend (check current prices).

Karavalli has been serving coastal food from Karnataka, Kerala and Goa since 1990, in a low bungalow-style building with tamarind trees around the courtyard seating. It is the sort of place where a long dinner does not feel rushed. Reserve ahead, especially at the weekend.

Ebony

Area: 13th floor of the Barton Centre, MG Road. Cost: mid-range (check current prices).

Ebony has been on this rooftop since 1993, and the open terrace looks over central Bangalore on every side. Ask for a balcony table when you book, because they go first. It is open through the afternoon and evening.

A private theatre for two: Rosae

Area: Koramangala 5th Block. Cost: Rs 1,097 to Rs 2,997 per 3-hour slot for a room for two, GST included.

We run nine private rooms on Jyothi Nivas College Road, and each one is booked only for your group. Six of them are rooms for two. There are no cameras inside the theatre rooms, and nobody else shares your room for the slot.

DREAM is a couple seats theatre: two recliners side by side, a 4K screen and Dolby sound, at Rs 1,748 for three hours. INFINITY is our most premium private theatre for couples, with two recliners, a 4K screen, Dolby sound and Apple TV, at Rs 2,997. If you want to spend less, CINEPOD starts at Rs 1,097 with an HD screen and surround sound, and CINEPOD PRO adds 4K and Dolby at Rs 1,397. Compare all of them on the pricing page.

DREAM couple seats theatre at Rosae, Koramangala

Every room has access to the major OTT platforms, so you can watch what you both feel like on the night and pause it when the food arrives. To play a video of your own, such as a wedding video or a surprise video, tell our team first on +91 63617 29855 and they will set it up.

Food comes from our own kitchen. Scan the QR code in the room, order from the menu, and we bring it to your theatre door. Outside food is not allowed, though you can bring your own cake. Alcohol is not allowed at Rosae. Guests must be 18 or older, and ID proof is required at check-in: upload it on the website before you arrive, or reception will check it and upload a photo for you.

How to pick between them

Start with the time of day. Before 9 AM, the gardens and the lake win, and they cost nothing. Between 11 AM and 6 PM, an indoor place makes more sense: the planetarium, a long lunch, or a matinee slot in a room of your own. After dark, the choice is a table or a room, because on a Friday evening in Bangalore a good table means a queue and a room means no queue.

Then look at where you both live. Travel decides more evenings in this city than the plan does. Pick something on your side of town, or book the earliest slot before the roads fill.

What an evening for two costs

A rough plan for two people, with third-party costs approximate:

  • Morning walk at Lalbagh, about Rs 60 for two, then breakfast nearby for about Rs 400.
  • An evening at Rosae in DREAM at Rs 1,748, plus food from our kitchen ordered in the room.
  • A dinner out in central Bangalore, about Rs 3,000 for two at a hotel restaurant.

Splitting DREAM two ways works out to about Rs 874 each for three hours, which is the part of the evening you control completely.

Book a room for two

Pick a room and a slot on the pricing page, pay a small advance online, and pay the balance at the venue by cash, card or UPI, or online beforehand from your phone, where your booking shows the remaining amount. We are at 67 Jyothi Nivas College Road, Koramangala 5th Block, open 10 AM to 1 AM. Call or WhatsApp +91 63617 29855 if you want help choosing a room.
